Certified Coder - 100% On-Site - Part Time


The
Certified Coder is a key member of Dover Behavioral Health System who will ensure completion of all Coding, ongoing correspondence activities related to patients' health records, and to maintain the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of patient information.


Dover Behavioral Health System is a 104-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Dover, Delaware area. Dover Behavioral Health System features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. What does a Coder at Dover Behavioral Health do?

  • Foster high levels of accuracy and ensuring that all medical records are analyzed and coded in an appropriate, timely, and accurate manner
  • Analyze patient charts for the correct ICD10 code and enter the final diagnosis in the patient automated computer system for billing; communicates with physicians and corrects documentation issues as needed
  • Work closely with the Business Office and Utilization Review and provide information regarding the medical records and educate staff regarding coding changes and issues
  • Participate in all Precyse Medicare Quarterly Audits and maintain the Corporate Goal of 95% or above
  • Print all dictated reports from the transcriptionist service and electronic records appropriately and retrieve discharge charts from all units on a daily basis (excluding weekends and holidays)

Qualifications:

Minimum:


  • High School Diploma
  • Must be a nationally certified medical records coder
  • One year work experience coding ICD10

Preferred:


  • Associates Degree preferred
