- Provide consultation to teachers, counselors, administrators, other school personnel and parents.
- Assist, as needed, with the development and provision of in-service programs.
- Participate in the pre-referral process and provide consultation to school teams regarding intervention supports for struggling students.
- Lead psycho-educational and formal behavior assessments; Complete and interpret measures of cognitive, social, physical, behavioral, emotional and educational functioning.
- Attend multidisciplinary team meetings; present assessment findings to the team.
- Assist in the identification of students with disabilities and/or physical or mental conditions according to North Dakota and IDEA guidelines.
- Prepare clearly written, comprehensive school psychological reports which address referral concerns and provide practical recommendations that can be realistically implemented by school personnel and used in the development of intervention plans and/or the IEP.
- Consult with case managers and educators in developing behavioral and educational plans for students.
- Consult with case managers in the management and data collection around interventions and assessments.
- Participate in School Crisis and Threat Assessment teams as requested.
- Provide individual and/or group counseling as needed.
- Under supervision, provides crisis intervention and therapeutic support for a student population
- Adhere to federal, state and local laws, regulations, and policies regarding children's educational welfare.
- Keep abreast of the professional literature in order to remain alert for ways in which psychological services to students can be improved.
- Maintain high professional and ethical standards as defined by Principles for Professional Ethics (National Association of School Psychologists).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

General Description:
Under the direct supervision of a Licensed School Psychologist, the School Psychologist Intern participates in and provides a full range of psychological services within the schools.
Position Summary:
The School Psychology Internship will provide opportunities for a range of school psychologist services consistent with all National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) domains of school psychologist training and practice.
The intern will provide direct services to students under the supervision of certified school psychologists.The internship's focus is developing and applying essential professional skills across multiple settings and with diverse student and family communities.
Under supervision, School Psychology Interns will ultimately become familiarized with a variety of assessment, intervention, and consultation methods utilized in education, school psychology, and psychology.
Interns will be prepared to practice at an early career School Psychologist level by the end of the internship. The internship stipend is $36,500 for the school year.Education and Experience Requirements
Must be pursuing an Educational Specialist (Ed.
S), School Psychology Specialist (Psy.
S), or doctoral degree in school psychology, and must have successfully completed all program requirements to be eligible to serve as a School Psychologist Intern through a college or university fully accredited and approved by NASP standards.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to approximately 15 pounds and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or bend. Specific vision abilities required by this position including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.Mental Requirements:
Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgment and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records.
Understand how to manage stress.Additional Work Conditions & Physical Abilities:
Itinerant travel may be required, and the individual is frequently required to change locations and adapt to multiple environments across schools, offices and home visits.
