    Description


    his position will provide planning and implementation support for the Akamai Global Communications team, including external and internal communications, industry analyst relations, and reputation management, with a focus on improving systems and processes.

    The Senior Specialist will report to, and work closely with, the VP of Global Communications, and collaborate with the extended Global Communications team, in executing against the group's goals and objectives.


    Responsibilities:
    Manage departmental budget including but not limited to: annual and quarterly budget planning; liaising with agencies / vendors, and Akamai procurement and purchasing, regarding MSAs, SOWs, and POs; creating and maintaining POs; tracking invoices; and maintaining and reporting on on-going budget
    Launch and execute new global measurement and reporting initiative, introducing new reports and processes, working with all contributors to ensure tracking mechanisms are current, gather timely and consistent inputs, analyze results and creating reports for executive level audiences
    Lead effort to improve and streamline sharing and merchandising of press coverage
    Support initiative to revamp and then maintain Global Communications intranet presence
    Support delivery of thought leadership, storytelling, and strategic analyst relations stakeholder workshops
    Facilitate Global Communications participation in and contributions to annual Marketing planning process
    Help improve team effectiveness and efficiency by evaluating and leading business tool and process improvement efforts from concept through implementation
    Support of other projects or assignments, as needed
    Required Education and Experience
    Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:

    • 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree
    Required Skills

    • 5 years of in-house or agency experience
    Desired Skills

    • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative, global environment
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to establish relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and external partners
    • Strong project management skills, including budget management and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute efficiently when priorities shift; Project
    • Management Certification (PMP) is a plus
    • Proven ability to provide insightful analysis of information and data, and document the results for senior-level stakeholders
    • Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills
    • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite products
