This position is a member of our Coastal & East Texas Division.


WHAT YOU WILL DO


As a part of the division's Coastal & East Texas team, our Environmental Investigator II will play a key role in achieving TCEQ's mission.


You would use your skills and experience to:

  • Plan and conduct investigations; prepare reports to document field activities and observed conditions. Assists with collecting and analyzing environmental samples
  • Conduct enforcement and followup activities in accordance with Enforcement Initiation Criteria
  • Assist with the collection of records, technical data, research, or analysis as a result of public information requests. Participate on committees and attends meetings, seminars, or workshops as required

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field generally preferred, but not required.


OR
Four years of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities directly related to the examples of work performed.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience interpreting environmental regulations and/or reviewing or evaluating environmental permits
  • Experience conducting inspections and/or investigations.
