This position offers an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule with a minimum 2-day work in office at our Houston office.
YOUR FUTURE TEAM
As part of TCEQ Compliance and Enforcement, you would help ensure that those we regulate comply with the state's environmental laws.
This position is a member of our Coastal & East Texas Division.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a part of the division's Coastal & East Texas team, our Environmental Investigator II will play a key role in achieving TCEQ's mission.
You would use your skills and experience to:
- Plan and conduct investigations; prepare reports to document field activities and observed conditions. Assists with collecting and analyzing environmental samples
- Conduct enforcement and followup activities in accordance with Enforcement Initiation Criteria
- Assist with the collection of records, technical data, research, or analysis as a result of public information requests. Participate on committees and attends meetings, seminars, or workshops as required
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field generally preferred, but not required.
OR
Four years of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities directly related to the examples of work performed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience interpreting environmental regulations and/or reviewing or evaluating environmental permits
- Experience conducting inspections and/or investigations.
