    Overview:

    The position serves as the senior finance executive for the company providing strategic support to senior leadership, managing a team of finance professionals, and ensuring the companys accounting processes, procedures and internal controls are followed. The Finance Director must demonstrate financial acumen, be an adept leader of people, and have a superior, service-oriented approach to finance. This position requires an analytical and metric-driven leader that can drive strong financial performance. Reports functionally to the Piston Group VP of Finance and will be an active part of the A. Lavas Senior Leadership Team.

    Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reporting package, including insights and analysis on key drivers, opportunities, and risks.
    • Responsible to work with Piston Group leadership and A Lava executive team to provide profitable strategic initiatives. Highlighting key area of focus based on financial results.
    • Responsible for the preparation, management, consolidation and delivery of budgets and forecasts.
    • Directs and coordinates key cash related functions including cash flow, working capital and key financial metric forecasting.
    • Presents A. Lavas financial performance, forecasts, and budgets to Piston Group (PG) Board meetings and other applicable PG meetings.
    • Ensures compliance to the companys policies, procedures, and internal controls.
    • Provide the organization with information, metrics & incisive commentary vital to the decision-making process to affect positive change.
    • Responsible for supporting the financial modeling of new business.
    • Responsible for reviewing new customers and establishing appropriate credit limits.
    • Responsible for team management, staff development and planning.
    • Assess current accounting operations and offer recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes; make tangible improvements toward automation of repeatable, low-value and mundane tasks in accounting
    • Interpret key financial data for the company, identify significant variances and make recommendations to improve.
    • Ownership of all financial processes including General Ledger, Costing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Payroll, Tax and Audit.
    • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely completion of annual financial statements and tax returns.
    • Lead and develop a team of finance staff in the performance of the above with an emphasis on professional development, financial support, and operational efficiency.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors in accounting, or finance related field. MBA or CPA, a plus
    • 7+ years of finance experience supporting the operations of the business
    • 3+ years of supervisory experience
    • Excellent communication skills, well-developed presentation skills
    • Ability to manage numerous projects as well as internal client relationships
    • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and business partnership skills
    • Strong manager that cares for and supports the development of staff
