Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Development and Events Manager to join our team.The Development and Events Manager will play a crucial role in fundraising efforts and organizing events to support the mission and goals of both the Contra Costa County Bar Association and the new non-profit, Contra Costa Justice for All.
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising/Sponsorship Strategy:
Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising and sponsorship strategies to support the financial sustainability and growth of the organizations.
Donor Relations:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other potential sources of funding.
Event Planning and Management:
Plan, organize, and execute both educational events such as a large educational conference and fundraising events, including galas and community outreach events.
Ensure events are well-coordinated, engaging, and aligned with the organizations' mission and objectives.Marketing and Promotion:
Work with Communications Team to develop marketing materials and promotional campaigns to increase awareness of events and initiatives. Experience and working knowledge of Constant Contact a plus.
Budget Management:
Prepare and manage budgets for activities and events, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial targets.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Collaborate with internal teams, including program staff and volunteers, to ensure alignment between fundraising activities and organizational priorities. Coordinate with external vendors and partners as needed.
Data Management:
Maintain accurate donor records, gift processing systems, and fundraising databases. Analyze donor data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Grant Writing and Management:
Identify grant opportunities, prepare grant proposals, and manage grant reporting requirements to secure funding from foundations and government agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Nonprofit Management, Fundraising, Marketing, Liberal Arts, English, and/or Business Administration).
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or event management.
- Proven track record of successfully securing funding through grants, donations, and events.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the mission and impact of the organization effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, donor management software, and event planning tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment, with a commitment to teamwork and inclusivity.
How to Apply:
35 hours/week - pay range $35 - $40/hour; broad benefit package available.
