- Collaborate with Health Informatics colleaguesto focus on standardized best practice workflow processes andclinical content to ensure alignment across all ministries in orderto create efficiencies that improve patientsafety
- Participate with knowledge transfer andbest practice dissemination across allministries
- Assess pharmacy related clinicalinformation systems for efficient and effective use related topatient care, user satisfaction, clinical productivity and qualityoutcomes
- Collaborate with Health Informaticscolleagues in the development and/or revision of initiatives orprograms related to data collection, retrieval, analysis andinterpretation to assist in optimizing patient outcomes and/oreffectiveness and efficiency
- Collaborate withHealth Informatics colleagues across the Ministries in the reviewand update of order sets
- Understand andarticulate the "connections" and links between and throughoutdepartment work related to clinicalapplications
- Identify and implement improvementopportunities with workflow processes and clinical informationsystems as it relates to the practice of clinicians andproviders
- Provide end-user support toclinicians, using critical thinking and troubleshootingskills
- Demonstrate sound understanding ofclinical practice as it pertains to the integration of clinicalinformation systems and impact on endusers
- Lead training efforts ofclinicians/providers in the use of clinical systems and tools tosupport patient care
- Identify content foreducation and competency needs in the use of electronic tools forpatient care
- Assure the development of anappropriate education and competency validationplan
- Provide on-going end user clinical systemeducation and support, with all upgrades, new releases, andenhanced functionality
- Perform responsibilitiesfor pharmacy modules or systems asappropriate
- Maintain a working knowledge ofappropriate experts in applicable federal, state, local, andprivate laws and regulations through identification of contentexperts in pharmacy, quality and compliance for all states in whichCHRISTUS Health is present in relation to clinical documentationand electronic medical records
- Communicate toall clinical end users, system changes with new functionality,workflow process changes, downtime procedures and other changes
- Identify opportunities for systemenhancement/optimization utilizing identified change managementprocesses
- Responsible for monitoringnon-compliance and for escalating through the proper chain ofcommand
- Foster relationships with MinistryManagement and other departments such as Pharmacy, InformationManagement, Quality, Case Management, Revenue Cycle andFinance
- Responsible for other duties asassigned
- Requires minimal instruction onday-to-day work and detailed instructions on newassignments
- Escalates operational problems andtechnical issues to senior team members and management
- Makes decisions regarding own work onprimarily routine cases
- Models/mentors andteaches team members within own function or family
- May mentor and train team members oninformatics supported information systems
- Works under minimal supervision, usesindependent judgment requiring analysis of variablefactors
- Collaborates with senior team membersto develop/validate methods, techniques and analyticalapproaches
- Solves or escalates operationalproblems and technical issues to senior team members andmanagement; modifies existing tools orprocesses
- Registered Pharmacist (Rph) or Doctor ofPharmacy (PharmD)
- ASHP accredited residencypreferred
- 3 years clinicalexperience
- 3-5 years' experience in pharmacyinformatics (pharmacy workflow, automation, and pharmacy relatedclinical applications experience)
- Advanceknowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Strongknowledge of clinical information systems, data management andadministration
- Knowledge of hospital practicesand procedures as well as laws, regulation and guidelinespertaining to practice standards and regulatory requirements with afocus in pharmacy/medicationmanagement
- Excellent verbal and written skills,strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independentlyand as a member of a team
- Current license topractice pharmacy
- Clinical pharmacy informaticscertification or 3 - 5 years' experience in pharmacyinformatics
- Valid Driver'sLicense
- Epic Willowcertification/accreditation/self-proficiency preferred (required tocertify in the relevant application within first 90 days of hire)Note: Once achieved, must be maintained.

The Pharmacist Informaticist is responsible for assistingin the operation and administration of clinical information systemsusing technological solutions, focusing on pharmacy and medicationmanagement throughout the continuum of care, collaborating withclinical associates to enhance their workflow methodology andtools. The Pharmacist Informaticist maintains a patient-centric andend-user centric focus, while assisting with analysis, testing,documentation, education, implementation and optimizationactivities to enhance technology adoption and efficiencies toimprove patient safety.
