Job Objective :
Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and processing payables and receivables.
Responsibilities :
Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices and receipts for multiple divisions.
Researches and processes customer claims of invoice payment, charge backs, returns, etc.
Prepares daily cash deposits and fills out cash control sheet.
Reports sales and use tax to State of Vermont and record keeping.
Maintains general ledger by entering payables and receivables into accounting software.
Maintains historical records by filing documents.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
Other duties as required.
Relationships and Roles :
Maintains positive internal relationships with all departments.
Maintains exceptional customer service.
Requirements:
Job Specifications :
Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a good understanding of basic accounting principles.
Familiarity with accounting software.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to read and interpret common financial reports and documents.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to resolve accounting discrepancies.
Proficient in MS Office applications (including Outlook, Excel and Word with significant experience in creating and utilizing Excel spreadsheets).
Knowledge of regulatory accounting requirements.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
