PrimeCare Medical is currently looking for a
Psychiatric Technician
to work in the medical department at the Chester County Prison in West Chester, PA.**
This is a Monday - Friday position, 40 hours per week, during normal business hours.

(8am-4:30pm)

Responsibilities:

The psychiatric technician is responsible for assisting in the coordination and implementation of the behavior health program.

  • Other duties include:_
  • Responsible for the clinical monitoring, coordination, and implementation of the behavioral health program in accordance with NCCHC/ACA/MCCS
Standards.

  • Engage inmates/patients in psychoeducational groups and individual encounters, with a focus on seriously mentally ill patients/inmates.
  • Actively assist with the detection and prevention of inmate/patient suicide by reporting concerns to supervisory staff
  • Assist in the coordination of the admission and placement of certified inmates/patients in forensic and community behavioral health facilities. Initiate the paperwork required for the inmates/patient's admission.
  • Document clinical services provided in the electronic medical record in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Monitor inmates/patients on segregation units; particularly those identified as seriously mentally ill.
  • Monitor and track supplies required to provide services.
  • Obtain releases from patients to request and obtain records from patient's previous treatment providers.
  • Serve as a member of various committees within the medical unit and facility, as necessary.
  • Participate in all inservice education programs according to the annual inservice calendar.
  • Maintain confidentiality at ALL times.
  • Any/all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or delegated.

Responsibilities:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other related Human Services degrees with a concentration in mental health course work preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year clinical experience is preferred.
