Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector - Weapons Systems Division is seeking a Program Manager to lead various tactical missile development programs and capture new prime missile business for our Advanced Weapons Business Unit.


This position is located in Northridge, California and is not telecommuting eligible.

Responsibilities:

The leader in this exciting and challenging role will be responsible for the complete missile development lifecycle which includes:

  • Lead program office team including finance, contracts, schedulers, IPT Leads, operations, security, IA and IT.
  • Responsibility for program P&L, schedule, and technical performance on existing contracts
  • Lead the preparation of new and followon proposals to capture new business
  • Develop growth strategies to increase program orders and develop new business opportunities
  • Develop product and technology road maps
  • Focus on developing strong customer relationships
  • Build relationships with leadership at key suppliers
  • Ensure program is executed in a manner that meets or exceeds Northrop Grumman yearly financial goals and customer requirements

Basic Qualifications:

This position emphasizes skills first

  • Must have 14 years of relevant experience
Will consider bachelor's degree plus 10 years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 8 years of relevant experience

  • Strong technical knowledge applicable to tactical missile development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong background and training in EVMS
  • Experience with DoD customers managing DoD development contracts as the Program Manager
  • Ability to travel approximately 15% to forge customer relationships and grow the business
  • Active Secret Clearance with inscope periodic investigation within 5 years or under continuous evaluation, and eligibility to receive additional clearances

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Master's degree in business
  • Strong technical knowledge and prior experience on missile development programs
  • Ability to advocate and influence government developmental acquisition plans and create new business capture strategies
Ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks while operating in a demanding, high-paced environment with mínimal supervision


Salary Range:
$151,900 - $227,900

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
