The Facilities Manager is a very hands-on position accountable for the management, operation, service levels and budgeting of building operational systems, shipping and receiving, environmental safety, support systems, and security.

The Manager is also responsible for the ongoing planning and execution of building repair and maintenance.

Manage employees such as Facilities Technicians, Mailroom Clerks, Space Planners, Environmental Safety Coordinator, Facilities Coordinator, CAD, CAFM, Events Coordinator and Transportation Providers.


As the IFM Facilities Manager you will:

  • Accountable for the management, operation, service levels, and budgeting of building operational systems, shipping and receiving, environmental safety, support systems, and security, as well as the ongoing planning and execution of building repair and maintenance
  • Direct daytoday activities of loss prevention, risk management, safety, security, maintenance, and landscaping
  • Manage policy in the areas of quality, cost reduction, complete and ontime delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and performance measures
  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with and works closely with the director of operations to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the company

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university related to facility management field
  • At least ten years relevant experience in facilities operations management and workplace
  • It is required to have own hand tools and battery drill Knowledge of equipment, controls, and building automation maintenance Working knowledge of regulatory agency requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical disciplines in Plant Operations, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing Strong project management ability and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to prepare operating budgets and capital plans
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings and technical manuals
  • Be proficient in computer, electronic and automated functions
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety roles, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to; write routine reports and correspondence; to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Excellent timemanagement and general organization skills
  • Working knowledge in real estate, architecture, financial operations, facilities, and office services functions, with direct experience in a facilities department preferred

Work Environment

The work environment includes the following elements and exposures:
Some work may be outdoors in hot, humid or cold weather Assistant in work may require use of ladders and aerial lifts Lubricants and oils on the floor Work in dusty and dirty environments Noise machinery such as air compressors & HVAC equipment Small office environment Personal protective equipment required while performing certain tasks Fast paced work environment Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments, shop environments and manufacturing environments Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise
