Summary


The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for conducting neurovascular and other sonographic exams on patients under the direct orders of a physician.

The Technician is accountable at all times for patient safety.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions._
  • Responsible for knowing Ultrasound Technician scope of practice and working within it, accountable at all times to an attending physician
  • Prepares exam rooms and patients for ultrasound examinations; maintains ultrasound equipment and machinery; notifies supervisor immediately of equipment defects
  • Prepares for the exam by performing an adequate timeout period, verifying that the procedure to be performed will be performed on the correct patient for the correct study

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Ultrasound technician education or other related education either in progress or completed
  • TCD experience preferred
  • Healthcare experience required

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Furnish proof of COVID19 vaccination

  • Strong knowledge of computerbased systems such as Excel, Word, and the Internet with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
