OVERVIEW
The Director of Construction will be responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and execution for the new store expansion throughout North America.
This role will be responsible for directing a team of Construction PM's, providing coaching and support to elevate performance and ensure quality project execution.
This Director of Construction will also play a critical role in leading the capital planning and coordination of cross-functional and external partners to deliver the development plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the timely and quality execution of all new store openings throughout North America
Lead a team of Construction Project Managers (CPM's), providing coaching, development, and support to elevate team and individual performance
Manage overall team workload and direct project assignments for CPM's and General Contractors
Partner with Real Estate to review potential retail locations and provide budget input in preparation for Real Estate Committee approval
Overall cost management, including the development of detailed cost estimates for approved retail locations, accurate budget tracking for active projects, and timely closeout for completed projects
Collaborate with Store Design leadership to ensure a continuous feedback loop to review and discuss development processes and performance
Coordinate with all internal cross-functional partners (Operations, NSO, IT, etc.) to validate all project timelines are aligned, and team requirements and standards are incorporated into the project plan
Oversee and manage relationships for all current or potential General Contractors and Owner vendors, providing feedback on performance and alignment for rollout strategies
Stay current on trends in the construction industry to help identify risks and opportunities to expansion plans
Review status of the entire development pipeline from deal approval through store opening and close-out, communicating any risks or opportunities to leadership
Partner with Store Design, Procurement, and Visual Merchandising to provide input and execution plan for any new or proposed store elements
Foster a mentality of continuous improvement and a Relentless Pursuit of Excellence
Frequent Travel Required, up to 30%
QUALIFICATIONS
8-12 years of experience leading a team in the luxury or specialty retail industry
Strong understanding of the construction industry, specifically in retail, and store development processes, procedures and best practices
Experience leading a team of CPM's, with a clear ability to provide coaching and mentorship
Self-starter and motivated to drive results
Must be able to work independently with little supervision
Ability to handle a pressure environment and continue to perform at a high level
Develop relationships with internal and external partners
Embody and represent the Alo Guiding Principles at all times
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in various stages of development
Strong communication skills in both verbal and written format
Experience working with Project Management Software (ex. Procore, PlanGrid, etc.)
Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proactive, positive, and professional nature
Ability to perform tasks with discretion and poise and often confidentiality
The base salary range for this position is $150,000-$200,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position.
As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range.
Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company's total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.#LI-ONSITE
