Description

Primary responsibilities include executing schedules, facilitating job assignment, employee training, maintaining inventory of shop supplies, ordering consumable items as required and performing hands-on work as required in the Production Test area.

Other responsibilities include tracking status of work-in-process, first pass yields, ensuring safe work practices and work areas, and maintaining good housekeeping (6S).

Will work under the direction of the Manager of Manufacturing.

" Monitor assigned work in process, including First Article verification, building maintenance and general housekeeping (6S).
" Monitor all Test personnel for adherence to Test procedures.
" Verify that all appropriate tooling and documents, i.e. drawings, specifications, procedures, work orders, etc. are available at the Test stations.
" Emphasize safety and cleanliness by maintaining organized Test stations and verifying that appropriate safety equipment is being used properly.
" Maintain productivity, quality, and overall performance of Test operations by completing weekly assignments as scheduled.

" Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks.

" Ensure the timely processing of in-process inspection work.
" Immediately report to your manager any infractions of any safety or department/company rule or injury.
" Document and Report all test failures to your Manager, QE, and ME.
" Respond to Internal Corrective Actions Requests that relate to your assigned area of responsibility and review corrective action with your manager.
" Train test personnel as required.
" Update manager on problems, discrepancies affecting production schedule.


Position involves the ability to frequently or constantly exert up to 20 pounds of force and occasionally exert up to 40 pounds of force to move/lift objects.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must have the ability to be flexible and deal with changing conditions as required.


Required Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations. Ability to communicate in English.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, test and operating instructions and safety procedures. Ability to prioritize workload. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to exercise discretion. Ability to pay close attention to detail and produce a high level of accuracy.

Required Experience


Associate's degree from two-year college or technical school or equivalent in Electronics Technology; and 5+ years related experience and/or training in Environmental, RF, Microwave and RADAR compliance testing.


Must be able to operate various types of test equipment such as, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, RF Generators, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, calipers, soldering/de-soldering tools and other assorted tools/machines normally associated with an electronics manufacturing area.

Will use copier and telephone.
