TITLE:

Program Coordinator (Benefit Access Network), Part-Time**
DEPARTMENT:Family & Youth Services**
SUPERVISOR:Case Manager**
LOCATION:Lawndale**
Job Summary:The Program Coordinator (BAN) provides support services to 25-45 families participating in the home visiting programs.

Services are also open to the community members. The position will be responsible for outreach and recruitment within the community to enroll participants.


The BAN project is a partnership to hire part-time staff to implement the Benefits Access Network ("BAN") in partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository in Englewood and North Lawndale.

The goal is to increase participation in SNAP and Medicaid among eligible families through organizational and community capacity building in these communities.


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Provide prescreening, referrals, and education for other safetynet programs such as WIC, LIHEAP, and EITC.
  • Host regularly scheduled public benefits enrollment events as laid out in the community plan.
  • Regularly engage with the online platform and other partners by sharing best practices, receiving policy updates, and receiving realtime assistance.
  • Collaborate with the Food Depository to set organizationspecific goals for measuring program growth and success; meet with Food Depository staff regularly to review goals and create an improvement plan when necessary.
  • The Food Depository will offer initial and ongoing training to the member organization.
  • Training includes but is not limited to:
  • New Partner Expectations
  • Technology Usage/Data Security
  • Benefit Access Network Procedures
  • Metrics and Data Collection
  • WIC, LIHEAP, and Earned Income TAX Credit Eligibility and referral sources
  • Marketing and strategies and Best Practices
  • Client Confidentiality
  • To develop individual outreach and marketing plan
  • Enter partner efforts into the Oasis database no later than the 3rd business day of every month.
  • Participate in a monthly discussion on partner progress

Education and Experience:


  • AA in liberal Arts, High School plus some college, and retired with the ability to work approximately 1520 hours.
  • Comfort in the use of learning and using database systems.
  • Strong collaborative skills, excellent followthrough, and relationshipbuilding skills are a must.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Staff will need competency in understanding and working with diverse cultures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge and understanding of community.
  • This is a part time non exempt position.

Hourly Rate:
Not to exceed $18.00/hour

Schedule: 20/week, Flexible (between M-F 9am-5pm)
