Description
Amptek is a high technology company and a recognized world leader in the design and manufacture of state-of-the-art nuclear instrumentation for the satellite, x-ray and gamma ray detection, laboratory, analytical, and portable instrumentation industries.
The Electronic Technician will perform electrical/mechanical assembly and testing of electrical systems and associated components. In addition to standard construction, the Electronic Technician will also be responsible for the diagnostic testing/troubleshooting of systems, and will perform board- or component-level modifications and repairs. He or she will ensure that all systems and components meet established specifications per standard operating procedures and/or mandated customer requirements.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems
- Utilizes various types of electronic testing equipment
- Performs soldering and electronic repairs
- Troubleshoots electromechanical assemblies to the component level
- Quality Control ensures all outgoing product meets specifications (and product outside of specifications is rejected/dispositioned)
- Documents test processes of electronic equipment
- Maintains a clean and safe work area
- Adheres to production schedule and expedites units based on scheduled ship dates
- Performs other functions or duties as assigned (maintenance, inventories, special projects, engineering/development assistance, etc.)
Education and Qualifications:
- Technical Highschool background or 2 years in a manufacturing environment
- Associate degree or the equivalent in a related technical discipline is a plus
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment
- Displays adaptability and flexibility in a fastpaced workplace
- Models a positive, professional work ethic and a 'customer first' attitude
- Communicates openly and effectively in a professional manner
- Basic PC knowledge
- Detail oriented
- Considers the impact to quality when making decisions
