What You Will Be Doing

Overseeing pharmacy automated dispensing technology projects.

  • Acting as project manager for pharmacy informatics and related consulting projects; supervising activities of assigned project resource personnel; preparing deliverables; providing recommendations; managing project budget expenses; preparing reports; delivering results to customers; identifying and mitigating risks and issues; completing performance improvement projects following company-endorsed methodologies.

Monitoring and ensuring proper system functioning.

  • Coordinating visits from vendors for upgrades and maintenance; identifying and resolving medication distribution system issues; assisting in developing programs to enhance service quality; analyzing data reports; educating staff on research findings; troubleshooting and resolving system program issues; making upgrade recommendations to vendors.

Assessing historical data on patient-care-unit-specific medication usage

  • Interpreting data, providing recommendations, implementing inventory changes for a safe and appropriate stock selection; coordinating removal of infrequently used items to improve space and medication utilization; conducting statistical analysis of automated dispensing system reporting functions.

Examining financial reports from technology systems.

  • Presenting reports to management; assisting in issue resolution; collaborating with Directors to ensure safe selection of medications; coordinating changes with key stakeholders; identifying pharmacy technology needs; facilitating installations and upgrades; developing tools, templates, and reports; assisting customers with operational best practices.

Developing and conducting training programs.

  • Training users on best practices; preparing training materials and references.

Supporting sales and marketing efforts.

  • Participating in needs analysis of prospective clients; defining project scope; providing resource requirements; contributing to client proposal meetings; representing the company at events; interfacing with industry experts; publishing articles and research.

Contributing to company initiatives.

  • Engaging in self-development activities; participating in company initiatives; performing assigned duties.

What You Need

Requirements:

  • Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Three years of experience in managing pharmacy dispensing technology systems (e.g., Omnicell, Pyxis).
  • Previous experience in managing technology installations and upgrades; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; PMP Certification a plus; prior supervisory experience a plus.
