    Job Summary

    Forcht Group of Kentucky is hiring a full-time Housekeeper

    This person will be responsible for maintaining several commercial properties in the Hamburg area of Lexington, KY and should have prior working experience in a housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial position in a commercial setting. This person will maintain commercial establishments and keep them in a clean and orderly manner.
    • 1st Shift / Flexible Scheduling
      • 7AM to 4PM, 8AM to 5PM, or similar.
    • Full-time, 40 hours/week

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
    • Cleans rooms, hallways lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met.
    • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
    • Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
    • Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
    • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
    • Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
    • Polish silver accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
    • Remove debris from parking areas and walkways.
    • Replenish supplies such as bathroom items and breakroom items.
    • Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
    • Prepare rooms for meetings, and arrange decorations, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
    • Three (3) years prior working experience in commercial cleaning services role.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to perform multiple job functions and tasks with minimum supervision.
    • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
    • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with other employees, management, visitors, outside contractors, and the general public.
    • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas.
    • Must have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
    • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
    • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
