Job Summary:

Costa Del Sol Skilled Nursing Facility is seeking a motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a per diem basis.

As a COTA, you will work closely with our Occupational Therapists to provide comprehensive therapy services to our residents.

Your primary role will be to implement individualized treatment plans, assist residents in regaining independence in activities of daily living, and enhance their overall quality of life.

This position requires open availability during weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to assess residents' functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans.
Implement therapeutic interventions, exercises, and activities to enhance residents' fine motor skills, mobility, coordination, and selfcare abilities.
Provide handson assistance and guidance to residents during therapy sessions to maximize their progress and independence.
Instruct and educate residents in adaptive techniques, compensatory strategies, and the use of assistive devices.
Document and maintain accurate records of residents' progress, treatment plans, and any changes in condition or response to therapy.
Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, including therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure coordinated care and optimal resident outcomes.
Provide support and education to residents' families on therapy goals, techniques, and strategies for promoting independence and safety at home.
Adhere to all relevant legal, ethical, and professional standards of practice.

Qualifications:

Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
Valid license to practice as a COTA in the state of CA.
Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and modalities.
Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and caseload.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Compassionate and patientcentered approach to care, with a genuine desire to help residents achieve their highest level of independence.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
Manual dexterity and physical stamina to assist residents with therapeutic activities.
Good visual acuity and hearing to assess residents' responses and communicate effectively.
