    Job Description

    General Purpose

    The Health Equity & Inclusion Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for the strategic development, effective coordination and delivery of the Office of Health Equity & Inclusion (OHEI) workforce development programs for UM Health Regional Corp.

    (UM Health-West and UM Health-Sparrow) workforce members.

    This position collaborates with internal departments and other OHEI staff in designing and facilitating learning for all departments across the organization.

    Key responsibilities include coordination of OHEI workshop sessions, identifying strategic learning & development needs for the organization, development of educational materials and resources.

    This position will also consult with internal departments and stakeholders to develop content-specific education and resources.
    Essential Duties
    Designs, implements and maintains OHEI live workshops, e-learnings, L&D initiatives and educational content and resources.
    Facilitate OHEI live workshop on a re-occurring basis and/or by request.
    Maintains OHEI curriculum content library.

    Serves as a Health Equity & Inclusion subject matter expert by giving perspective, insight, and knowledge in a consultative manner across all teams.

    Consult with internal learning and development leaders to ensure concepts and principles of Health Equity & Inclusion are embedded in UM Health Regional Corp.

    Develop and maintain metrics to track, evaluate, and report on the progress of OHEI strategic learning & development goals and objectives.

    Utilize L&D data and input from internal stakeholders to determine strategic OHEI learning & development strategic priorities.

    In partnership with the OHEI Coordinator, design and implement organizational development initiatives aimed at facilitating inclusion and belonging for UM Health patients, employees and guests.

    Participate on committees, project teams, or other special assignments as needed.
    Performs other duties as assigned.

    These may include but are not limited to:

    Maintaining a current knowledge base of department processes, protocols and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by department leadership.

    Job Requirements

    Work Experience


    • Proven ability creating, leading, and implementing DEI strategies and programming.
    • Must be able to deliver effective presentations and classroom facilitation to groups of all sizes.
    • Experience designing learning and development content, adhering to established organizational brand standards.
    Education


    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or relevant training/development role or Associate degree in related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development or relevant field
    Specialized Knowledge and Skills


    • Willingness to learn new software and skills as deemed necessary to be successful in role.
    • Recognizes the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization and actively seeks to support, understand and empower those different perspectives and cultures.
    • Understands the need to practice sensitivity to cultural norms, expectations, and ways of communicating.
