PROJECT ENGINEER

PURPOSE

To review and prepare applications and supporting documentation in matters related to obtaining California Air Resources Board Executive Orders (CARB E.O.s) and SEMA Certified Emissions (SC-E) for aftermarket automotive & motorcycle products. Also collaborate with the Director and other staff engineers in determining the appropriate path for SC-E and interaction with CARB.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

Review initial application information with clients to determine appropriate emissions compliance path.
Prepare application documentation for CARB EO or SC-E, including technical drawings, test data, material specifications, calibration tables, etc.
Prepare emissions test plans, when applicable.
Prepare Project Checklists, Quotes, SC-E Test Letters, Test Report Justifications (TRJs) and Certificates of Compliance (COCs).
Create detailed Vehicle Coverage Lists in Excel, including emissions data.
Manage applications throughout the process
Interact with Client & CARB (as needed) throughout the project.

Reports to Director of Emissions Compliance
Interfaces with CARB & SEMA Compliance staff
Interfaces with Members
All levels of staff

PRIMARY SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

Engineering degree or equivalent work experience in Fluid Dynamics, Mechanical, Calibration or OBD2 required.
Must have technical knowledge of internal combustion engines and related aftermarket performance parts.
Project management skills a plus.
Excellent communication and administrative skills, with a customer service mindset.
Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office, with high proficiency in Excel.
A keen eye for details.
Experience working in a highly collaborative environment with the ability to work autonomously.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
Ability to maintain confidential information about projects and members.
