CPNYC champions the needs of children with incarcerated parents and addresses systemic issues such as racism, poverty, and justice system biases.
Unique in New York City, our innovative model integrates a licensed mental health clinic with youth centers in Brooklyn and the Bronx, providing comprehensive programming tailored to empower and uplift our youth.
Position Overview
The Social Media Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing CPNYC's online presence and engagement through the strategic management of all social media platforms.
Reporting to the Marketing and Brand Growth Manager, the Coordinator will focus on content creation, event coverage, and audience engagement across digital channels.
Essential Job Functions
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Brand Growth Manager to develop and execute strategic plans and goals for CPNYC's social media presence.
- Increase brand awareness and online reputation through engaging content.
- Manage content across CPNYC's digital platforms, including the website.
- Create and publish highquality, original content (images, video, written, and audio/podcast).
- Implement a content editorial calendar for timely and relevant marketing campaigns.
- Ensure comprehensive event coverage for dynamic social media content, including photo and video capture.
- Edit video and image content for engaging posts.
- Conduct interviews to share compelling stories similar to "Humans of New York".
- Utilize analytics to guide strategy and demonstrate ROI across metrics such as audience growth, engagement, and content reach.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or relevant coursework in a related field.
- Deep understanding of social media trends and platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, TikTok, etc.).
- Proven track record in expanding a social media following, particularly on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Proficiency in Google AdWords, Google Analytics, and content marketing principles.
- Strong content development and management skills.
- Ability to balance creative marketing with analytical rigor.
- Excellent writing, communication, and video editing skills.
- Effective time management and teamwork capabilities.
This part-time position requires a commitment to work from our Brooklyn and Bronx locations three days a week, under the direct supervision of the Marketing and Brand Growth Manager, to achieve CPNYC's digital engagement and awareness goals.
