    We are seeking a highly motivated, critical, and creative individual to join the CareDx R&D team.

    This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing, dynamic, and collaborative R&D team delivering cutting-edge technology directly to clinicians.

    The primary function of this position will be to drive development of innovative diagnostic solutions for transplant recipients based on a variety of technologies to measure analytes of interest.

    The ideal candidate will be able to lead assay development and validation projects, have experience interfacing with cross functional teams including bioinformatics, biostatistics, data science, clinical and lab operations; and provide subject matter expertise in molecular biology and diagnostics development.


    Responsibilities:
    Provide deep technical expertise to guide development of novel cell-free DNA analytical methods.
    Lead cross-functional teams developing cfDNA assays, products, and services across CareDx portfolio pipeline
    Manage scientists and research associates with expertise in high sensitivity product development using multiple technologies (qPCR, RNA-seq, and others)
    Guide the design and execution of high-value diagnostic solutions development
    Liaise with relevant stakeholders in clinical, regulatory, and commercial to coordinate and align activities in support of development
    Build strong partnerships with external collaborators by identifying potential academic and clinical partners to accelerate CareDx programs
    Drive testing services and product programs and projects; ensure that budget, timeline, staffing and other corporate/program objectives and goals are met
    Identify areas for assay improvement and propose and implement solutions
    Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and development for junior staff to form highly productive team members
    Ensure all work is performed and documented in compliance with applicable regulatory and quality practices
    Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:
    Ph.
    D.

    in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline with 15+ years of experience, at least 10 years of industry experience, and 5 years of experience managing teams.

    Demonstrated leadership in clinical diagnostics development, ideally with Design Control experience
    Strong background in molecular biology with application to clinical medicine
    Proven scientific leadership and management of high performing individuals and cross functional teams – direct experience managing people required
    Ability to collect requirements, plan activities and prioritize activities/assignments to supporting team members
    Able to identify risk and provide recommendations for risk mitigation in area of responsibility and at project level.
