Description

Job Overview: Responsible for preparing tissue specimens for pathology review, including performing special and routine stains. Tasks include processing muscle and renal biopsies, as well as immunohistochemical stains for detailed diagnosis.

Qualifications:
Required:

High School graduate or equivalent
Proficient in preparing tissue specimens for pathologist examination

Scheduling Requirements:

Full Time
Evening Shift

Essential Functions:

Expertise in producing quality tissue sections, especially kidney cuts at 2 microns
Skilled in snap-freezing kidney and muscle tissue
Ability to create quality frozen sections suitable for immunofluorescent staining
Proficient in dissecting kidney and muscle biopsies for EM studies
Experience in performing immuno fluorescent staining of frozen kidney tissue
Competent in immunohistochemical staining techniques
Understanding of quality control concepts for staining
Ability to manage antibody inventory
Skilled in decalcification of bone specimens
