    About the Job and Company

    The Precision Pathology Biobanking Center (PPBC) is a recently established research facility at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. At the core of the Center lies the collection, annotation, and storage of human biospecimens. Our skilled team acquires surgical and biopsy samples from more than 8,000 patients annually, playing a crucial role in driving high-impact research at MSK. The PPBC Histology Core Laboratory offers essential histology support to various research projects at MSK.

    We provide specialized consultation and expertise in tissue-based experiments, assisting in tissue selection and processing for various research needs. Our technicians are proficient in a wide array of histology techniques, ensuring the quality and accuracy of research samples.

    We are Hiring: Research Histology Technician/Technologist

    • You will:
      • Embed tissue specimens using appropriate orientation techniques
      • Cut paraffin and frozen sections
      • Stain and coverslip using manual and automated methods
      • Label slides and verify patient information
      • Prepare special solutions and reagents
      • Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities
      • Help develop new research protocols and SOPs
      • Work collaboratively in a team environment
    • You have:
      • Proficiency in computer use
      • ASCP Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification preferred
      • New York State certification not required
      • Salary Range: $34.11-$52.88
