Electrician for Industrial Technology

Duration of Training: 3.5 years

Required Education:
Secondary school diploma with good grades in math and physics

Useful Skills:
Manual dexterity, teamwork, reliability, enthusiasm for all things related to electricity

Vocational School:
Vocational School Wittlich; 2 days of vocational school per week at the beginning of the training

Energy electricians must keep a cool head, even when working under high voltage.

Electricians for industrial technology install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, production equipment, and process plants, from control and switchgear systems to energy supply facilities and communication and lighting systems.

At the beginning of the training, seminars in metalworking and electrical installation take place at PapierMettler. The focus is on health and safety, and training in accident prevention regulations is a must. Afterwards, our apprentices learn directly on site and work in project groups in their respective areas of deployment. They lay cables, repair production equipment, and assemble circuits. In the third year of training, they learn how to program programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
