- Serves as a cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) with regards to Authorization of information systems and all associated cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Perform ing a DOD cybersecurity process while either authorizing an information system or serving as a SME for an information system undergoing authorization.
- Gather and verify documentation surrounding each assessment type including, but not limited to Information Security, Cybersecurity, SOC reports, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Regulatory Compliance and Operations, and related disciplines in alignment with established practices.
- Ensure appropriate documents have been obtained to fulfill assessments.
- Create, maintain, and enter information into various systems. Maintain comprehensive and accurate records and documents.
- Assist with the development and submission of risk assessments.
- Perform as the primary POC for cyber incident, significant activity, issue, and vulnerability reporting within the WHS cyber terrain.
- Monitor queues daily to ensure prompt attention is given to assigned assessments.
- Adhere to established deadlines.
- QA completed assessments for accuracy. Record and monitor completed service metrics and data.
- Escalate relationship concerns to Management Team in a timely fashion.
- Act as support staff and a resource for Information Security department
- Performs duties as needed supporting departmental growth.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have a Secret Clearance
- Must have a current Security+ certificate or any IAT LVL II Certifications.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have a B.S. or B.A. in related field.
- Must have two years of experience working in a federal government operations environment. Experience in a DOD cyber security operations environment is preferred.
- Must have one year of experience handling (marking, deriving, etc.) classified files (email, documents, web pages, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Experience testing system security controls and determining security compliance with requirements.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle processes.
- Knowledge of information security principles, including risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response, and identity and access management.
- Experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining security procedures .
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of DOD cyber security operations environment .
