    Steel Structures America, Inc. is a family-owned business that has its headquarters in Post Falls, Idaho. We currently operate in Idaho, Washington, Montana, and Colorado. The person hired for this position will work mostly in the Spokane, Washington & Coeur d'Alene, Idaho area. We believe that each employee contributes directly to Steel Structures America's growth and success and we are currently looking for a new member of our team to be an experienced Overhead Door Installer with our affiliate Garage Door Design, Inc.     Position Summary:

    Overhead door specialists install, repair, and maintain residential and commercial mechanical doors. At this time, we are in need of someone who has experience and will require very little training.

    Essential Functions:

    • Overhead door duties include installing dock seals and bumpers, testing treadle operating systems, using hand tools to cut holes in floors for door installation, packing lubricant into door closer chambers and winding large springs
    • Operate lifts and winches and carry springs to the tops of doors and replace worn or broken parts, like springs, openers and brackets
    • Workers remove or place defective doors or openers and install completely new door systems and openers
    • Complete work orders, order new parts, collect payments and provide estimates if needed
    • Overhead door specialists inspect job sites for door clearance, study blueprints and schematics diagrams and adjust doors if they malfunction
    • Using a welder or fasteners, hang back hangers to ceilings and install tracks, set doors in place, install springs, ensure proper functioning and calibrate and set electric garage door openers
    • Use of a welder and shaping machines to fabricate doors for custom openings as well as custom parts to replace broken or worn ones

    Skills & Abilities:

    Residential installer certification and/or Commercial sectional door systems technician certification or 2 years relative business-related experience required.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Comfortable with routinely shifting demands

    High degree of attention to detail

    Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks

    Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

    Must be punctual and reliable

    Ability to read technical plans and drawings

    Ability to work in cramped spaces and at heights

    Education/Certification:

    Must have a valid driver's license and a relatively clean driving record.

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

    All new-hire candidates will need to have a background screen and drug screen before being officially hired at the employer's expense.

    Work Environment:

    Will work in outdoor environment or buildings with/without heating or air conditioning. Will be expected to travel as needed from job site to job site, generally in the Spokane, WA; Coeur d'Alene, Idaho area. Hours will vary with site conditions.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $ $35.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
