- Maintain an understanding of the proper steps of service, consistently executing them with efficiency while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout the shift
- Anticipate guest needs and create strong relationships; recognize regular and repeat guests
- Ensure constant communication with staff members, management, and the kitchen at all times during service
- Demonstrate speed and accuracy when using the POS system during service
- Actively delegate to support staff to fulfill all steps of service to focus on guest needs
- Attend all mandatory educational, informative, and staff meetings
- Arrive on time and ready for scheduled shifts while following dress code guidelines as outlined by Employee Handbook
- Maintain highest standards of quality when polishing china, glass, and flatware
- Reliably perform opening and closing side work, as well as any related duties, as assigned
- Attend and actively participate in pre-shift; participate in regular quizzing on menu items, service, and restaurant information
- Demonstrate and maintain expertise knowledge of current menus for all service periods
- Demonstrate knowledge of the preparation and possible allergens for all menu items
- Command knowledge of the beverage menus, including, but not limited to cocktails, well and premium liquors, and all wines by the glass
- Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines
- Check identification of all customers who appear under 30 to verify they are of legal drinking age prior to serving them
- Help guests to make selections from food and beverage menus, suggest courses and pairings, explain any off-menu dishes, answering all food preparation questions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant to Department of Health (DOH) standards, before, during, and after service
- Demonstrate knowledge of DOH standards and immediately inform Manager on Duty (MOD) of any violations
- Clock in and out for each scheduled shift and shift break.
- Accurately report cash tips and contribute to tip pool; Record tip information on sheet, as directed by Management
- Comply with Company's policies and procedures, as well as city, state and federal laws
- Maintain general knowledge of location, transportation, management team, etc.
- Adhere to all HR policies and procedures
- Handle guests' special dietary needs, allergies, or special requests with utmost sensitivity following Company service standards
- Communicate with kitchen to manage timing of courses, any guest feedback, etc.
