SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Under the guidance of the Facilities Management Team at the Culinary Center; responsible for managing the daily operations of housekeeping and sanitation for the facility.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to training, monitoring specific aspects of the facility with regards to Production equipment breakdown cleaning procedures, facility housekeeping and sanitation of the NYC H + H Culinary Center.

General tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Supervises and assists with monitoring daily work schedules and/or work assignments to ensure proper staffing needs are maintained.
  • Able to develop systems and procedures to improve department operations.
  • Assists in strategic planning to meet budgetary requirements.
  • Checks quantities and condition of all sanitation supplies and reports discrepancies.
  • Manages, trains, coaches to motivate to work as a cohesive team.
  • Communicates all relevant work information to Sanitation Staff; Conducts all disciplinary needs applicable to all direct reports of NYC H + H staff.
  • Coordinates with Facilities Management and oversees necessary departmental training(s), daily required documentation etc. to all employees with regards to Personal Hygiene, HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points), handwashing, sanitation, housekeeping cleaning procedures, temperature monitoring, fire and safety; equipment handling, prep area(s) startup and close down procedures etc.
  • Monitors and maintains Environmental Service requirements and HACCP procedures as outlined by Facilities and Food Safety.
  • Coordinates Facility Floorcare; Stripping, Refinishing, Burnishing etc. in accordance with identified schedule.
  • Assists and Supervises the management of snow removal and landscaping needs for the facility.
  • Handles any overlapping Facility Vendor interactions and issues with professionalism.
  • Prioritizes tasks and responsibilities as needed.
  • Performs tother related duties as required by Management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and
  • Two (2) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, one (1) year of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician; or two (2) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including one (1) year in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or
  • A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in "1" above; and
  • Three (3) years of full-time experience, as described in "2" above, including two (2) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations, as listed in "2" above; or
  • A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Note:
Certification or licensure may be required.

  • Certification(S)/NYS Licenses: NYC Food Protection Certificate
  • Three (3)
  • Five (5) Years Enhanced Knowledge of Food Manufacturing, and Food Production Sanitation Requirements; Documentation and Practices
  • Detailed Tasker and Results-Oriented
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Experience in High-Volume Industrial Kitchen, Hotel or Restaurant Environment.
  • Management Experience in a union environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude.

Software Operated:
Microsoft Office [Word, Excel etc.], Microsoft Office Teams, Safety Culture Familiarity a plus
