    Our customer, a leading supplier of commercial bar rails and architectural metal to architects, interior designers and millworks, located in the Kenmore, NY area, is looking to fill a vitally important Director or Operations role.

    This is a direct hire/full-time/onsite position
    Salary based on experience: $100-$135k

    The position will act as a leader in the organization in three pivotal areas:

    Product Management: Processes to efficiently support sales efforts including:
    • Tube Bending: Scheduling, bending, training, and monitoring backlog, quality, through-put and return & feedback.
    • Brushing and Polishing: Inventory monitoring of both raw materials and finished goods. Scheduling, production, transaction recording, and training
    • Order Processing: Queue management, fulfillment, and quality control.
    • Freight Management: Establishing and maintaining vendor relationships, software (ERP systems), quality control, and cost management.
    • Production Planning: ERP systems management
    • Third-Party Vendor Management: The planning and execution of a system to maintain an inventory of value-added items. Target levels and lead times, logistics, transaction recording, and quality/cost control are vital to this piece.
    Inventory Management: Organized, accurate & appropriate inventory that supports sales including:
    • Creating, monitoring, and modifying inventory layout maps based on business needs.
    • Developing and executing a plan for inventory cycle counting and full physical inventory counting:
      • Determine targets and rhythm based on value and risk
      • Efficient turnaround and feedback.
    • Develop a system to maintain inventory movement to/from third-party vendors.
    • Create inventory receiving processes and labeling system for Warehouse Management System.
    • Setting Inventory target levels.
    Facilities & Equipment Management - The management of physical assets needed to facilitate sales.
    • Develop short and long-term plan for facilities based on 1, 3 and 5-year outlook
    • Create preventative maintenance plans for equipment and buildings
    • Create safety and security plans (fire prevention, disaster recovery, weather emergencies).
    • Management of building systems (internal and external, security system management).
    Requirements:
    • 10+ years of Operations Management experience in a warehouse/manufacturing facility.
    • 7+ years of experience managing direct report employees
    • 5+ years of experience working in an ERP (ideally Netsuite or Oracle-based system) system.
    • 10+ years of experience in inventory management, cycle counting, logistics, and physical asset management.
