- Utilizes evidence-based clinical practice standards to provide direct clinical services for patients within prescribed guidelines and physician instructions.
- Acts independently to perform physical assessments, diagnostic functions, specialized risk assessments, and make critical decisions regarding a wide variety of health situations, including high risk and crisis situations.
- Acquires patient health histories and evaluates patient, performing physical examinations. Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs. .
- Discusses case with physician.
- Formulates and documents care plan.
- Prescribes medication, therapies an/or other forms of treatment.
- Evaluates the patient's response to therapy.
- Participates in On-Call program, which may include after-hours, weekend and holiday calls and visitations.
- Requires an MS in Nursing and minimum of 2 years of related experience with clinical emphasis for nurse practitioner; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Current unrestricted RN license and NP license in applicable state required.
- Certification in a specialty or minimum of 1 year experience in a specialty area, such as cardiology, dermatology, orthopedics, etc.

The Family Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Infusion is responsible providing for the health care needs of patients in collaboration with a physician, through advanced assessment and identification of health states including abnormal conditions, diagnosing, treatment therapies and/or evaluation.
