Summary
Responsible for the direct supervision of assigned registration specialists and departmental operations at multiple sites. Oversees scheduling and ensures that adequate staff is available to meet the needs of the patients at multiple locations. Responsible for management of patient and customer satisfaction, quality standards, performance improvement and personnel performance and productivity. Establishes a culture of service excellence, focusing on patient, physician and colleague satisfaction and engagement. Acts as liaison between registration and clinical areas. Ensures departmental responsibilities in the absence of the Manager.


Job Duties

  • Oversees daily and monthly schedules by assuring completion in a timely and equitable manner. If necessary, supervisor covers.
  • Monitors work queues and daily performance expectations to ensure colleagues adhere to Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Departmental and Network policies and procedures.
  • Monitors employees' time entry and ensures timely and accurate completion of payroll and PTO review.
  • Responsible for timely recruiting, counseling, evaluating and recommending termination (in conjunction with Human Resources).
  • Coordinates orientation schedules and competencies for newly hired/transferred registration specialists and ensures timely completion.
  • Provides departmental support, orientation and ongoing education for registration specialists.
  • Assesses employees' compliance of established registration policies, standard work, mandatory education and other registration protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains proficiency in registration processes.
  • Communicates personnel issues, and/or conflicts with others to the Manager. Strives to resolve conflicts between staff and others.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5 years in a health care or customer service environment with a demonstrated track record of success with progressive responsibilities in assignments and leadership positions overseeing work processes.
  • General leadership skills (strong communication, problem solving, delegation, customer satisfaction)
  • Ability to initiate, accept and adapt to change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with Epic, Navinet, and Passport preferred.

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 7 lbs., continuous sitting >67%, frequent keyboard use/repetitive motion, frequent fine motor activity/wrist position deviation.
