Our dynamic team of cancer genetic counselors at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a new team member to join our expanding clinical practice.
Genetic counselors provide genetic counseling to patients considered at significant cancer risk due to an underlying pathogenic mutation in a cancer gene and/or their personal and family medical history of cancer.
Genetic counselors facilitate the genetic testing process and communicates the implications of the result to the patient, and their healthcare providers.
ResponsibilitiesObtain family histories, provide genetic counseling and education to patients and their families with adult heredity cancer syndromes
Develop and implement genetic counseling services for high-risk patients undergoing DNA testing for cancer susceptibility genes
Serves as resource to patients, families, staff and physicians
Represent the organization in initiatives on cancer genetics
Qualifications
Required:
Master's degree in Genetic Counseling
American Board of Genetic Counseling Certified or Board-eligible
Ability to obtain WA DOH licensure within six months of employment
Broad knowledge of genetics
Ability to communicate complex information in simple way
Self-awareness
Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred:
Experience in cancer genetics preferred
Process improvement skills
Knowledge of NCCN guidelines in regards to genetic testing recommendations
Knowledge of healthcare delivery models

The annual base salary range for this position is from $76,606.40 to $114,878.40 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
Benefits include medical/vision, dental, flexible spending accounts, life, disability, retirement, family life support, employee assistance program, onsite health clinic, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation days per year), paid sick leave days per year), paid holidays (13 days per year), paid parental leave (up to 4 weeks), and partially paid sabbatical leave (up to 6 months).
