Job Summary


The Assistant Director of Marketing for Purdue Liberal Arts is a key role within the Marketing and Communication team of the College of Liberal Arts.

This position leads the creation of innovative marketing campaigns, digital content, and promotional materials while working closely with the Communication Manager and other team members in identifying target audiences, analyzing market trends, and evaluating the effectiveness of marketing efforts through data-driven insights.


The Assistant Director of Marketing collaborates with internal stakeholders across departments and schools within the College of Liberal Arts to ensure alignment with overall marketing objectives.

This position requires a strong understanding of branding principles, digital marketing techniques, and project management skills.

The Assistant Director of Marketing should demonstrate creativity, strategic thinking, and a passion for higher education and the liberal arts.

They must be adept at multitasking, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of goals and comprehensive marketing strategies: Lead the management and execution of marketing strategies tailored to Purdue University's College of Liberal Arts, aligning with overarching objectives and goals.
  • Supervise digital marketing and communication efforts: Oversee the college's digital footprint, including social media platforms, official websites, and online advertising campaigns, to ensure effective communication and engagement with target audiences.

Establish and maintain visual communication standards that reflect Purdue University's mission and values, ensuring consistency and professionalism across all printed and digital materials.


  • Leadership and talent development: Provide leadership to the Communications and Marketing team, mentoring staff to excel in their roles, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, and promoting professional development and growth opportunities.

Qualifications:


Required:


  • BA/BS required, preferably in marketing, communication, business/management, or related field.

Preferred:


  • Experience in higher education.
  • Digital marketing experience.
  • Must be capable of managing complex processes and multiple, concurrent projects, supervising fulltime employee(s) and undergraduate students, interacting positively with diverse populations, thinking creatively, and working independently.
  • Ability to manage the image of the College of Liberal Arts portfolio of programs (which may include Undergraduate, Graduate, Online, and Dean's Initiative programs as assigned) and promote them using a full range of marketing, promotional, and social media techniques and strategies.
  • Experience working in content management systems.
