Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting department by performing various administrative and clerical tasks.
Scope of Responsibility:
Accountable for all accounting functions, general ledger, journal entries, financial reporting, assisting with month and year end close, accounts payable and accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and other general accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Accounts Payable
- Backup AR billing
- Prepare and post daily journal entries
- Assist with month and year end closing
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts such as cash, prepaids, etc.
- Enter cash receipts into computer system
- Maintain customer records
- Collections on delinquent accounts
- Assist with HR tasks as needed such as new hires
- Help maintain confidential employee files
- Auditing HR records for compliance
- Support Controller on the preparation of financial statements
- Answer multiline phone system and assist visitors as needed
- Assist with job costing
- Assist with physical inventory
- Cross train in other roles as backup if needed
- Miscellaneous duties such as census reporting
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required to be successful in this role:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excel and Microsoft Office
- Bank account reconciliation
- Balance detail to general ledger account
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills
- Effective timemanagement
- Flexibility to change directions and priorities if necessary
- Ability to focus on daily and weekly priorities

Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- 3+ years in an accounting role required
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and language required
Preferred but not required:
- Associate degree or Bookkeeping Certificate highly preferred
- Experience with ERP a plus
- Experience in HR
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
No extraordinary physical demands will be required. The individual will be sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. The individual may do some walking through the facility and occasional light lifting (up to approximately 20 pounds). The individual is required to stand, reach, write, talk, see, and hear.

Pay:
$ $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
