Position Description


Responsible for creating, updating and delivering onboarding materials for new hires as part of Retail Operations Center (ROC) onboarding programs.

Organizes and facilitates Team Member engagement events monthly in partnership with leadership from ROC departments.

Ensures Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities' information, services, events and available trainings are communicated to Team Members.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring onboarding process is effective in introducing new Team Members to the business to help ensure longevity and reduce turnover.
  • Analyzes and identifies improvements to current processes and report to leadership.
  • Works with leadership, HR, and community partners to coordinate free services and events for ROC Team Members.
  • Works with leadership to create and facilitate a Team Member events calendar for monthly ROC culture Team Member engagement events that may include goody bags, treats, drawings, games and prizes, catered lunches and/or contests.
  • Creates and maintains ROC Community Boards to highlight employee achievements and build and maintain a positive work culture at the ROC.
  • Collaborates with ROC leadership, Learning and Development, HR, Safety, Risk/AP, Recruiting and IT to ensure each Team Members onboarding experience is informational, productive and meets the needs of leadership and Team Members alike.
  • Shares and posts information regarding general company information, events, trainings and community services to ensure Team Members are well informed.
  • Schedules and conducts Good Start Orientation (GSO) classes for ROC new hires. This includes making sure all required paperwork is completed, providing a tour of the ROC and training on general policies and procedures.
  • Schedules and conducts GSO II classes for Team Members that have worked 90days or more for next level onboarding to strengthen interdepartmental relationships and further understanding of ROC operations and culture.
  • Makes sure all onboarding materials are up to date and meets any required policies, procedures or regulations.
  • Partners with leadership and Learning & Development to implement and conduct a ROC Goodwill First 90days (G90) Program for onboarding managers.
  • Provides support to leadership and Team Members to ensure onboarding needs are met.

  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent and related experience within Goodwill
  • 12 years of work experience with career progression in the fields of training, fostering community partnerships, business culture or similar teams
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize accordingly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience planning and coordinating trainings, meetings or events
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills must display patience, humor and helpfulness at all times
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding personnel information
