Laboratory Manager

Job purpose

Duties and responsibilities

Mix raw material ingredients to form fragrance compounds.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Maintain appropriate raw material levels in your work area.
Begin and finish all laboratory compounds in computer programs, as necessary.
Maintain retains of all samples produced.
Purge samples at the end of the year.
Notify management of potential fallout/color issues pertaining to a formula.
Assist in other areas of the lab, as necessary.

Education & Qualifications

AS or BS in Chemistry or Biology a plus
Attention to detail.
Knowledge of proper laboratory procedures is strongly preferred.
Strong documentation and organization skills.
Strong mathematical aptitude.
Professional written and oral communication skills.
Ability to learn computerbased programs quickly is required.

Working conditions

Typical laboratory station.
Protective equipment required: hair net, beard cover (as needed), face mask (as needed), gloves, laboratory coat, safety glasses, hearing protection (as needed).

Physical requirements

While performing duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand (for extended periods), stoop, bend, walk, and use hands to handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employees will be required to handle chemicals and solvents as required during job execution. Employees may be required to move or lift objects up to 25 lbs.
