ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Ensure that all PSI safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met
  • Liaise/support both internal and external stakeholders across the Engineering Department in accordance with assigned responsibilities
  • Prepare and review ship specifications
  • Coordinate and track engineering submittals between design partners, classification societies, and owners
  • Coordinate workflow of basic and detail design phases within the Engineering department
  • Track, monitor, and provide status of actions resulting from comments from Owner and Class to resolution and deliverables
  • Provide support to Project Management as the interface to other engineering disciplines and generate necessary reports, presentations, and other deliverables to provide engineering status
  • Create and modify design drawings
  • Assist design engineers with their work load
  • Assist field engineers in their daily production support activities
  • Assist with coordination of asbuilt vessel drawings
  • Process production data to provide statistical summaries
  • Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficiency with MS Office and 2D CAD systems, such as AutoCAD
  • Experience with 3D modeling software, such as Tribon or Aveva Marine
  • Proficiency with metric system
  • Knowledge/experience concerning ship design
  • Knowledge/experience concerning modern shipbuilding practices

WORK ENVIRONMENT


Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke.

Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is an onsite, full-time, safety-sensitive position. Standard days and hours of work vary by department, days and hours determined by department schedules.
