SUMMARY


The primary responsibility of this position is to provide security and general support for the campus community by performing the essential duties listed below.

The officer represents the school and provides security for visitors, guests, parents, employees, and vendors.
This position will be scheduled from 10:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

(Graveyard), Tuesday through Saturday, 5 days a week, including weekends. This shift may also be required to cover other shifts as needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Must be able to successfully perform all the following duties and other duties as assigned.


SECURITY OFFICER:


  • Control the main entrance gate to allow the entrance of authorized personnel. Check credentials or approved roster before admitting anyone.
  • Utilize the Schools' badging system to ensure visitors are properly vetted. Greet and direct visitors to various parts of the campus. Observe departing guests to guard against theft of school or personal property.
  • Several times during each security shift, patrol the campus grounds and facilities.
  • Examine doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure. Lock doors and gates, and close open windows. Turn off unnecessary lights.
  • Warn and deter persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts. Do not use physical force, unless warranted in an eminently dangerous situation. Notify violators of rule infractions, such as smoking or trespassing. Work with local authorities in reporting criminal activities, such as theft or vandalism to Webb property.
  • Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, safety hazards, and maintenance problems.
  • Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons. Immediately report incidents to appropriate school personnel.
  • Maintain radio contact with the faculty O.D.'s (Officer of the Day). Respond to requests for assistance. Carry issued cell phones and respond to calls.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of the schools' Emergency and Evacuation Plan.
  • Maintain legibly written reports of shift activities.
  • Watch for, respond to, and document all wildlife incidents, including but not limited to, bears, coyotes, snakes, bobcats, mountain lions, bees, etc.
  • Performs physical count of the schools' assets, upon request.
  • Use inventory software to record, track, and maintain all inventoryrelated data.
  • Scan, photocopy, and upload inventory asset forms and supporting documentation.
  • Scan and deliver packages to appropriate locations within the schools.
  • Weekend work will be required. Some overtime may be required.

SPECIAL OPERATIONS:


  • Provide setups (to include but not limited to tables, chairs, podiums, sound systems, etc.) in support of daytoday campus activities and special events (some are onetime, and some are recurring).
  • Assist in performing traffic and parking control, assist the landscape crew in performing their duties (mowing, trimming, clearing streets, picking up litter, etc.), assist the custodial crew in cleanup, assisting the facilities maintenance crew by digging trenches, moving large items, and provide other general support for the campus community.
  • Layout/mark athletic fields and for setting up athletic equipment such as goals, bases, nets, etc., and for cleaning the swimming pool.
  • Safely operate and drive dump trucks, pickups, and golf carts.
  • Must complete and successfully pass the Webb School driver training course. After passing the driver training, help with the transportation of Webb Students as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
A high school education or equivalent is required. Six months' experience in a similar position is preferred, but not required.
