Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Public Benefits Manager will be


responsible for the following:

Job Summary:

Status:
Exempt regular full-time. 40 hours per week.

Salary Range:
$55,000 - $60,000, depending on experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision and Leadership (40%)

  • Supervise and serve as leader to the Benefits and Senior Programs team, act as
liaison and ensure compliance for organization policies and procedures.

  • Hire, onboard, and provide continuous training to benefit staff on internal
processes.

  • Ensure team meets funder and grant compliance, program goals, submits reports,
and stays abreast of changes in benefits programs.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and community partners to leverage additional
resources to provide greater impact of benefits for IAC clients.

  • Monitor and create as needed department processes and procedures ensuring
consistent implementation

  • Regularly attend Public Benefits training.
Administration (20%)

  • Maintain daily/weekly data recording in IAC database as well as funder
databases.

  • Submit monthly/quarterly/yearly reports and audits to funders.
Service Implementation (20%)

  • Assist lowincome clients secure public aid/benefits (including but not limited to:
Medicaid, Medicare, All Kids, Social Security, Food Stamps, CTA Free Bus pass

for Seniors, Housing, Unemployment, Covid Emergency Funds, Rental assistance)

  • Responsible for intake, analysis, preparation, and follow up through determination
  • Perform administrative duties including answering phones, taking and delivering
messages, processing incoming and outgoing mail, making copies, filing records

and assisting members of the public.

  • Attend to clients questions regarding case status or program services via phone,
  • Follow up on pending case work and maintain communication with clients via

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience is required.
  • At least one year of nonprofit management is required.
  • Previous Public Benefit experience 3+ years required.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and other departments.
  • Experience analyzing company needs, employee development and goal setting.
Google Suite, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat required. Experience in Apricot and

Salesforce is a plus.

  • Solutionoriented mindset, with a willingness to take initiative while juggling several
priorities.

  • Desire and ability to work independently, but also to perform in a team
environment.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail, problem solving and good time management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and sensitivity to challenges of the
immigrant community.

  • Respect for others' experiences, opinions, language, values, culture, and
knowledge.

  • Multilingual a plus: In languages such as Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu, Arabic, or Pashto
