    Overview

    IDC is looking for a Sales Manager to work closely with IDC's Major Accounts customers, within our Telecom Center of Excellence.

    This high-level major accounts sales professional will be responsible for managing sales and business relationships at US HQ locations and coordinating worldwide business for several top IDC vendor customers. The Sales Manager will be responsible for monthly sales of services, to include renewing existing services as well as selling new annual services, other syndicated research, and consulting (working with dedicated consulting sales partner). This position reports to the Sales Director, Telecom Center of Excellence.

    This Role can either be Fully Remote or Hybrid if in the Boston area. If Hybrid, it would be 1-2 days at our Needham MA location.

    Responsibilities
    • Generating revenue in both renewal and new sales of IDC products.
    • As a member of a collaborative team, the Sales Manager will be responsible for developing an in-depth knowledge of IDC products and services, as well as building strong relationships with individuals across IDC.
    • The individual will prospect for incremental opportunities, follow up on proposal generation, respond to client requests for information and/or problems, and continue to enhance the client value proposition.
      The individual will be responsible for meeting assigned monthly 'hard' sales quota.
    • Territory will focus on a handful of major Telecom Services and Cable accounts (8 to 10) - to be confirmed by upon hiring
    • This individual will work collaboratively with their consulting peers and will seek out and drive consulting opportunities, bring in appropriate consulting managers, and project managers when opportunities have been uncovered.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
    • 8+ years of sales experience and demonstrated sales success.
    • Strong telephone cold calling experience preferred. Prior experience selling an intangible product or service is a plus.
    • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience developing existing accounts and developing high level relationships.
    • High emotional intelligence required.
    • Experience in managing large 'enterprise' accounts, previous experience with Telecom Services firm desired, but not required.
    • Strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills
    • Additionally, this person will be entrepreneurial, motivated, assertive, and collaborative, as well as be a self-starter and a quick thinker.
    • This position requires strong time management and organization skills, proficiency in account management, and the ability to multi-task
    • Prior market research industry sales experience is strongly preferred , but not required.
    • CRM/Salesforce experience required.
    • Requires approximately 20%-30% domestic US travel.
    • Must be able to work West Coast hours regardless of location as many of the accounts are West Coast-based.

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $170,000 and $225,000 and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
