Under the direction of the Director of Housing & Support Services, the YCES Regional Coordinator will provide leadership in Service Planning Area 6 (SPA 6) to manage, strengthen, and grow the network of housing and support service providers striving to meet the needs of young people experiencing homelessness in South LA.

The Regional Coordinator represents SPA 6 at all convenings relating to the LA County Coordinated Entry System for Youth (CESY).

The Regional Coordinator will ensure that the network is providing full coverage in SPA 6 and collaboratively coordinating care to minimize duplication of services to young people experiencing homelessness in South LA.

The Regional Coordinator will work closely with the LA Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) and other key government agencies to implement and strengthen the Coordinated Entry System for Youth.


The Regional Coordinator will work with partners in the community to strengthen the network of sites where young people experiencing homelessness and housing instability can access housing through the CESY.

The Regional Coordinator will build relationships with providers offering appropriate housing options for TAY to increase the housing resources available through the CESY in SPA 6.

These include crisis housing, bridge housing, transitional housing and permanent supportive housing.

The Regional Coordinator will work with partners in the community to ensure young people served through the CESY have access to support services, including but not limited to mental and physical health, alcohol and substance abuse treatment, assistance with mainstream benefits, education, employment and vocational training.

The Regional Coordinator will work collaboratively with CES partners to ensure the coordination and oversight of data collection among SPA 6 CESY partners.

The Regional Coordinator will supervise the CESY Matcher for SPA 6 and Housing Navigators.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Serve as the primary representative for CESY in SPA 6 to support the expansion of system partners and facilitate the ongoing utilization of the system.
  • Coordinate Youth CES activates in SPA 6, implementing the system access points and ensuring that the access points are operating effectively, cooperatively and in a streamlined manner.
  • Manage the relationships with CRCD's community partners and actively participate in regional collaboratives to ensure services are available to eligible youth.
  • Coordinate with community partners and stakeholders to increase the knowledge, availability and accessibility of supportive services and housing opportunities for youth experiencing homelessness and housing instability in the region. Identify and incorporate new resources into CES for the SPA.
  • Actively participate in all LAHSArequired CESY systemwide training and meetings.
  • Work with regional partners to track CESY housing placements within the region. Ensure that CESY partners implement required CES practices, protocols, and compliance protocols in terms of documentation and other service provision criteria.
  • Complete all Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) CESrelated training.
  • Support coordination and facilitation of regional Care Coordination meetings of CESY partners.
  • Conduct atleast quarterly convenings with community providers to ensure a consistent feedback loop to LAHSA and CRCD regarding the implementation of CESY in the region. This includes evaluating the progress of the system, identifying gaps, and increasing linkages to key support services resources.
  • Actively supervise, support, and coordinate with the CESY Matcher and Housing Navigators.
  • Work with CRCD's Data Team and CES data partners to implement and ensure accurate data entry practices amongst staff, subcontractors, and partners.
  • Oversee the coordination of the YYA and require partnership meetings and events.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the annual Youth Count in SPA 6. Recruit Volunteers and Sponsor's partner agencies.
  • Oversee private or governmental foundations to provide rental assistance to families and individuals.
  • Conduct CES and agency presentations to partner agencies or funders.
  • Participate in various meetings with DCFS liaisons to connect emancipated youth to housing resources.
  • Uphold CRCD's Mission Statement and 5year Strategic Plan.

Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12 years' experience or related work and a Bachelorslevel Degree; or an Associateslevel Degree and 5 or more years' experience providing housingbased support services to young people facing multiple barriers to housing stability.
  • Experience working with youth experiencing homelessness and housing instability, and/or have had experience in foster care, probation, mental health systems.
  • Reliable, flexible team player who works well with mínimal supervision, who has a good work ethic, and an ability to set and maintain personal boundaries.
