RES is a leading provider of ecological restoration and water resource solutions in the country. So far, the company has successfully restored 294 stream miles, 58,024 wetland acres, and conserved 9,100 acres of endangered species habitats. Additionally, they have planted over 14,000,000 restorative trees and helped reduce 250 tons of polluting nutrients. RES is focused on balancing economic growth with ecological sustainability by simplifying the environmental permitting process through various strategies.
The Land Representative role involves building connections with potential landowners to secure property rights using different methods such as fee simple acquisition and conservation easements. This position will report to the Regional Land Manager.
This role may demand up to 50% travel within the Midwest region, with occasional overnight stays. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around acquiring land for new projects, which includes identifying suitable landowners, reaching out to them, and maintaining accurate records. You will be responsible for negotiating with selected landowners, sometimes requiring overnight visits.
Furthermore, you will support in various due diligence tasks like surveying, title verification, and organizing closing documents. Occasionally, you will be involved in proposing projects at different developmental stages.
Conduct analytical tasks by evaluating property data, studying land records for restoration site feasibility, managing financial aspects related to acquiring new assets, collaborating on cash flow statements, and assisting in creating project budgets.
It's important to note that the listed duties are not exhaustive.
- BA/BS degree and at least 1 year of experience in land acquisition, development, or sales
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Good driving record
- Passion for environmental conservation
- BA/BS in Real Estate
- 3 or more years in land acquisition and development, especially within environmental contexts
- Experience with ArcGIS
