  • Two year Associates degree with relevant major in Human Resources preferred
  • Two years experience in Human Resource related field preferred.
  • Two years in related position in health care preferred
  • Excellent writing, communication skills and computer knowledge including excel.

Job Summary
Provides administrative support to the Administrator to include typing, filing and coordination of manuals and reports. The work involves specific projects, with frequent contact with the professional and administrative staff.

HR Coordinator responsibilities include recruiting hiring, maintaining staffing levels for each department in compliance with facility policy, state and federal guidelines.

In addition HR will be duly trained to assist with staffing and payroll in the event that Staffing Coordinator is on vacation, etc, and as needed.


Specific Requirements
Working knowledge of state and federal regulations.

Must be able to read, speak, write and understand the English Language.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents and family members.

Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.


Must possess patient, tact and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents, if necessary.

Demonstrates commitment to continuing professional development.

Ability to recognize and later describe persons associated with nursing homes safety and security.


Working Conditions
Works in office areas as well as throughout the nursing service area (i.e., medication, resident's rooms, etc.)

Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours.

Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies, under all conditions/circumstances.

Communicates with medical staff, nursing personnel.

Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends, holidays when necessary.


Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or without the aid of mechanical devices.)

Must be able to cope with the mental stress and emotional stress of the position.

Must be able to hear and see or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function.

Must be in general good health.

Must be able to lift, pull, push and move a minimum of fifty pounds.

Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.

Employee will receive in service education for all mandatory topics, upon hire, and at least, annually thereafter.

The facility Administrator and/or designee will be responsible for conducting observations, evaluations and competencies of the employee to ensure compliance and competency.

Employee is expected to follow all facility policies and procedures referenced upon hire and as needed including timeliness, attendance, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Attire is expected to be neat, hygienic, and professional.


DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS -
Reviews staffing needs with department directors and coordinates recruitment, interviews.

Submits and ensures all payroll documents including Employee Status Sheet are signed, dated, completed and forwarded to Finance timely.

(If applicable) Ensures that assigned payroll are calculated accordingly and submitted to finance timely and accurately.

Ensures compliance with CHRC Policy and Procedures.

Maintains and monitors all requests for FMLA/PFLA/Personal Leave/W/C. Corresponds with staff in writing approving or denying requests. Maintains LOA Log and monitors for compliance


Inputs and monitors pertinent information, i.e., license expirations, recertifications, cpr and physical information in SBV upon hire and as needed.

Ensures and oversees that license and recertifications are up to date.

Ensue that staff bring in original license/certification upon renewal for validation. Copy to be placed in file.

Ensures all annual employee requirements are in compliance. Physicals, Performance Appraisal.

Ensures compliance with FMLA/PFLA/disability paperwork/WC and monitors that all documents are completed, signed, submitted to appropriate agency/finance.

Works directly with Administrator on projects, filing, typing, answering phones and maintains Administrators manuals as assigned.

Receives and forwards any calls and messages to the correct corresponding person

Compute payroll for assigned department.

Ensures each department maintains system for vacation and request for time off and timeliness of requests.

Completes assignments accurately, efficiently and timely.

Ensures that all licensed and certified staff including medical staff are up to date. Maintains records for validation.

Completes recertification for certified nursing assistants. Ensures that recerts are sent to prometric timely, completed in full a signed by DNS/Designee
