McCall-Thomas Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a Professional Engineer- Telecommunications for full-time work onsite in our Orangeburg, SC office.

McCall-Thomas Engineering is a multi-faceted engineering firm housing multiple divisions including the Communications Engineering Division, the Electrical Engineering Division, the Electric Utility Service Division, the Electric Field Operations & UAS, as well as the McT Learning Center and Print Services.

A McCall-Thomas Communications Engineer role will include the following responsibilities:

• Central Office Engineering
• Outside Plant Network Design
• Fiber Route/Equipment Planning
• Construction/Project Management
• Contract Management
• Conference travel and client relations

What You Will Need:

• Eligibility to work in the US with no sponsorship requirements
• Bachelors degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college engineering program
• PE license required
• 7+ years experience in FTTH Technology/Design
• Knowledge of all aspects of FTTH design, staking, construction, inspection, contracts
• Complete understanding of OSP, Engineering, and Construction of Fiber Optic Systems supplying residential and broadband services
• Direct experience with RUS specifications and contracts for rural telecommunications or rural electric cooperatives
• Knowledge and understanding of fiber testing, specifications and analysis
• Experience with FTTP GPON/XGS-PON/NG-PON2 and active ethernet technologies
• Experience with Adtran and Calix access equipment
• Experience giving technical presentations on various telecommunications subjects
• Understanding of consulting engineering industry
• Proficiency in Engineering and GIS systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well with cross-functional teams
