Position Summary
The Learning Design Specialist is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing and implementing enterprise learning solutions for Bechtel's global organization.

They will provide deep experience and expertise in adult learning design to build and maintain effective training, learning solutions, and performance support tools for the organization.

They will work collaboratively with global Talent Management colleagues to evaluate learning requests, manage projects on time and on budget, and develop and implement engaging learning solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Creating and implementing multifaceted learning curriculum and development programs including ILT, VILT, asynchronous webbased training, team building, handson activities, and postcourse evaluations.
  • Ensuring portfolio of learning solutions are in alignment with enterprise priorities and requirements, and managing the production and refresh of courses accordingly.
  • Establishing and maintaining schedule estimates and stakeholder expectations during the development of learning programs.
  • Building trusting relationships internal customers and stakeholders by delivering as promised.
  • Designing learning solutions that are engaging, informative, high quality, and delivered according to Corporate Learning & Developments standards and guidelines.
  • Supporting course preproduction and copyediting, including reviewing course materials for completeness, spelling, and grammatical errors.
  • Researching industrystandard leadership / softskills content.
  • Managing course files in electronic library and working with colleagues to upload content into learning management system.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices within the Bechtel Talent Management team.
  • Performing troubleshooting and editing during and after the production process.
  • Ensuring utilization of industry best practice and to provide innovative solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Human Resource Management, or related discipline or at least 7 years' experience in adult learning design and development, with at least 4 years' experience in building corporate learning solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and tools including design documents and scripts/storyboards.
  • Ability to work independently and function as an effective and collaborative team player across multiple organizations.
  • Ability to research and synthesize content on leadership and/or soft skills topics.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Suite authoring tools including PowerPoint.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects and stakeholders at the same time.
  • Experience utilizing webdevelopment/elearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, After Effects, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Ability to utilize graphic design skills to develop innovative, creative, and highly interactive solutions in elearning environments.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) with experience translating English content into Spanish.
