About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Internal Operations to oversee the operational efficiency and effectiveness of our multi-unit vision retail locations.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the VP of Internal Operations will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, optimizing processes, and ensuring the highest standards of quality across all aspects of our business.

This is a hybrid remote role, offering a flexible work arrangement out of our Vienna, VA office.

You Will

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the internal operations team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Manage and deploy leadership methodology and operational processes and procedures across multiple functions.
  • Oversee the integration of newly acquired practices into the company's operations, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with company standards and processes. Partner with Practice Development on the assessment and due diligence process for potential acquisitions, identifying opportunities for growth and synergy.
  • Provide support and guidance for the establishment of new practice locations (de novo), including site selection, buildout, staffing, and operational setup. Ensure consistency with company branding, standards, and operational protocols.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the patient experience. Lead the management of the patient experience team. Generate and analyze reports on patient satisfaction metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Evaluating key business components to assess current performance standards. Identifying areas of improvement and developing improvement solutions.
  • Consulting with crossfunctional teams to gain alignment on improvement solutions.
  • Ensuring methodologies, processes, and procedures are sustainable for future use.
  • Communicating changes and solutions to key stakeholders to gain buyin.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards for all aspects of service delivery, including eye examinations, eyewear dispensing, and customer service.
  • Oversee inventory control processes to optimize stock levels, minimize shrinkage, and ensure accurate product availability across all locations.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and development initiatives for optometrists, opticians, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, licensing requirements, and corporate policies, implementing measures to mitigate risk and maintain adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to develop and manage budgets, analyze financial performance, and drive profitability through effective cost management.
  • Identify and leverage technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experience, and drive business innovation.
  • Work closely with other departments, including field operations, marketing, finance, human resources, managed vision care, and professional services to align operational strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Champion a patientcentric approach to operations, prioritizing patient satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
About You

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in retail operations management, with a focus on multiunit retail and/or the vision care industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven track record of success in leading and developing highperforming teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make datadriven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fastpaced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Travel up to 30 % of the time may be required.
