Functions as a member of the clinical patient care team performing tasks and procedures consistent with the training and licensure of a Medical Oncologist/Hematologist
Experience practicing Radiation Oncology with a strong record (or an excellent recent graduate)
Demonstrated practice-building experience is preferred
Practice Setting:
Outpatient at Free-Standing Cancer Center
Reason for coverage:
Physician retirement/relocations
Most benign Hematology is referred out as we are focusing on getting new solid tumor diagnosis seen timely (within 1 week of referral).
Demographics for this area are roughly 20% Hematology, 80% Oncology.Number of Physicians in Practice: 3 currently
Will There be Radiation Oncologists Present? Yes
How Many AP
Ps Provide Coverage: 2 currently
Average Number of Patients Per Day - OUTPATIENT (Clinic/Office): 10-15
Average Number of Patients Per Day - HOSPITAL (Call/Rounding): Only when patients are admitted for inpatient chemo
Trauma Level/Designation (Hospital): III
Required Duties:

Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair or wheelchair
Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids
Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone

Board Certified or Board Eligible (within the past 2 years) in Medical Oncology
Board Certified or Board Eligible (within the past 2 years) in Hematology
OR license (or willing to obtain)

BLS (prior to start)
