Job scope/ summary

  • Leads all milling operations.
  • Coordinates and supports routine operational, maintenance as well as coordinates in staffing challenges

Essential Functions

  • Leads milling operations in the safe manufacture and movement of quality products.
  • Conducts quality control testing on in process materials and visually inspects raw materials for any discrepancies,
  • Coordinates staffing needs and daily crew assignments.
  • Maintains equipment and coordinates with supervisor and maintenance on any needed improvements, repairs and adjustments necessary.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of raw materials in meeting production deadlines.
  • Manage compliance with all safety, environmental, and manufacturing policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and ongoing training to new employees on general milling, product flow, plant layout, safety rules and regulations, equipment operation and all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate milling activities with various departments.
  • Perform routine quality control inspections of milling operations, raw material warehouse, and work in progress.
  • Coordinate activities designed to motivate employees, incorporate teamwork, and develop an attitude that will encourage safety, quality, performance, and organization.
  • Know and maintain the use of computer controlled automations systems for delivery of raw materials and operations of milling equipment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION

  • Educational attainment equivalent to high school graduation
  • Extensive milling experience
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES

  • Thorough understanding of chemicals used in paint making including, functionality and hazards
  • Extensive knowledge of all milling operations and procedures
  • Knowledge of safety procedures as well as applicable OSHA, DOT and environmental rules and regulations
  • Ability to assign, train, coordinates and reviews the work of milling personnel
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships all with employees, supervisors, management, vendors, drivers, and public and private business representatives
  • Ability to delegate tasks and inspect work for completeness and accuracy
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations including fractions, decimals and percentages
  • Extensive knowledge of measures of weight, volume, and conversion methods
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
